FORGIVE YOURSELF FOR THINGS YET TO BE DONE
With the dawn of the new year, I have had the opportunity to circle back and talk with advisors who I coached one-on-one. I have heard this sentiment several times now:
I am disappointed that I haven't implemented more! I have only done these things, and not those things!
Now, keep in mind, these are people who are doing the work. They have built the client service models and have started delivering comprehensive advice-based planning for a fee.
These are not lazy advisors sitting back on their laurels and doing nothing.
I want to say this to every single one of you out there who is doing the work and disappointed in your progress:
Forgive yourself for thing yet to be done!
Building a high-value, client-centric, comprehensive financial planning EXPERIENCE is an incremental process. What I teach, took me over a decade of learning and experimentation to develop in my own practice.
Hiring a coach or taking a course can speed up that process, but it takes time. Give yourself some grace!
This is why I chose Soulful Strategic Planning for my first TIA ACADEMY training topic.
Optimizing your practice will never happen with one new initiative or even in one year. It will be something that you continue to develop and improve upon every single quarter and every single year for the rest of your career.
The Soulful Strategic Planning training is based on the 5-step framework for creating the future. It is the exact process we use in my practice to do strategic planning with our team.
1. ENVISION IT
2. DOCUMENT IT
3. BUILD IT
4. COMMUNICATE IT
5. REFINE IT
Do you see that last step? Refine it! It doesn't say, "Build a master plan, get it right the first time and never look back."
The TIA Academy, which includes the Soulful Strategic Planning process, is available to you anytime.
And as you begin this journey into not only a more meaningful way of doing business but a truly fulfilling process that will guide your personal life as well, I hope you forgive yourself for everything you have yet to do in you business and commit to a process to make incremental progress toward your vision of your ideal practice!
With Purpose,
-Lucila
